The Sugar Loaf

This is my first CD which sums up the music that I listen to and aspire to.

The Sugar Loaf is a hill is located in the east of Co. Wicklow, South of Bray and to the North of the Glen of the Downs Nature reserve. Though only 501 metres high, its isolation from other hills makes it appear much taller than it is.

When growing up in Kilmacanogue, it was the first thing my mum, Bernie Madden would see when she went into her back garden. To her, then and still, The Sugar Loaf represents home.

Now, whenever I arrive in Ireland, whether by air or into one of the ports, The Sugar Loaf is always my reference point.
